Donaghpatrick Standing Stone As you enter the churchyard at Donaghpatrick, it is impossible to miss the Gallán and stone font standing to the left hand-side of the path. I was surprised at the shape of the standing stone It stands 1.8 metres high with a rectangular cross-section, giving it the appearance of a large scratching post. It is believed the stone was salvaged from a building, so this my account for the it's shape. Standing next to the monolith is a medieval font. |
