The large bullaun

AKA Tacumshin Bullaun Stone

This huge rectangular block of granite contains a large bullaun at the centre of the upper surface. The block is almost a metre in length by 0.76 metres wide and stands 0.67 metres high. There is a shallow depression on either side of the large bullaun, but these can be difficult to see in certain light conditions. The bullaun stone is resting on a cement base located on the roadside at Faythe crossroads in Tacumshin Village. I have no knowledge of the stones history but would love to know of any folklore that may be attached to this very impressive stone. Tacumshane windmill is about 100 metres west of here.

Situated: From Tagoat head west on the R736 for about 4 kilometres then turn left for Tacumshane. After 2 kilometres go left at the crossroads. The stone is down this road on your right 100 metres beyond the Millhouse Bar.
