Turas Station 3, Áit na nGlún-Place of the knees
Station 3 is a small ovoid shaped cairn, 2.90 by 2.16 metres in size. There is a flat stone, pictured below, with a rounded stone on top, possibly a curing or cursing stone. There were originally three of these round stones. The pilgrim would pass these stones around his body three times whilst invoking the Holy Trinity. Also close to the cairn is a depression in the ground where the pilgrim would kneel, it is known as Áit na nGlún - Place of the knees. Due to the long grass we were unable to locate the depression, but hopefully on our next trip we will manage to find it's whereabouts.
Situated: To get to this station continue walking west away from station 2. Take the first right turn towards Beefan. After about 900 metres you will come to a fork in the road. Take the right fork and walk 150 metres along the track, Station 3 is situated in the field on your left. There is a metal gate for access.
