Gleann Cholm Cille/Glencolmcille Turas Station 4 About 60 metres south east of St Colmcille's chapel is a small Leacht, it looks like a small cairn but is rectangular in shape. On the top of the leacht is a small cross inscribed slab. The slab is made from schist and stands almost a metre tall with the latin cross inscribed on the western face. The station is situated inside a low circular enclosure with an eastern entrance. On our visit the grass was quite long, making it difficult to see the low stones of the enclosure. Hopefully we will get back to stations 3, 4, 5, 6 in the future, we were very disappointed with the light on this visit. Station 5 can be seen to the left in the background. |
