Grange Alignment

Lough Gur

Alignment/ Megalithic structure

Located in a field northwest of the Lios Stone Circle is a strange megalithic structure. There is a row of at least 12 low stones about 12 metres in length with a much smaller row running parallel to it. About halfway along the first and second row is a single stone situated between them. Tim Casey the landowner told me he had been privileged to see a lunar alignment here early one summers morning. I have been searching to find out more about this alignment but have had no luck to date. Worth a look if you are visiting the Grange area.

Situated: From Bruff take the R512 North about one kilometre after the first crossroads you will see a small car park on your right. From there cross the road and head into the field walking away from the farmhouse.
