Kilmallock 16th Century Merchants House There are so many medieval sites in Kilmallock it would be quite easy to miss this superb architectural gem. Located on the westside of Sarsfield St, Sarsfield House is a late medieval merchant's house. Some of the features, the hood mouldings, the pointed arched doorways and the prominent stringcourse are typical features for a 16th century building. The structure originally had three floors but lost the top floor in the early 20th century. It was previously altered in the 18th/19th centuries. |
