Portal Tomb
The portal tomb at Newmarket is a huge disappointment. Basically it is just three stone slabs leaning against each other. It is impossible to make out what part of the tomb any of stones formed and such a pity as the tomb is situated in a lovely location. If you are visiting the monastic site at Aghaviller as I was, then may be drop by this ruined tomb. But I would not recommend a visit otherwise.
Situated: From Kilkenny take the N10 south to Knocktopher. Turn right onto the R701. Then after 3 kilometres take the next left. The Portal tomb is 500 metres up this road on your left.
