Court Tomb

This was our second visit to see this court cairn and it proved more fruitful than our first call. Thanks to the grass having been cut recently, it was easier to see the structure of the tomb. The gallery is 14 metres long and at the north-east end you can see the arc of the court. The stones used are very low and some have fallen over, but I think there are at least four chambers with each chamber narrower than the first from northeast to southwest. There is a lot of cairn material scattered around the gallery and the cairn edge is visible to the north western side of the gallery.

Situated: From the M1 take exit 18 and head east for Carlingford on the R173. After 7 kilometres turn left onto the R174. Then take 350 metres right up what looks like a private road. The court tomb is about 300 metres up here behind a low wall on your right.
