St Dympna's Holy Well
St Dympna's well is one of the many tidal wells that can be found around the Irish coast. The most well known, tidal well, is probably St Augustine's in Galway City. The Kildavnet well consists of an arrangement of about 9 or 10 boulders with a small wooden cross cemented into the west side. If anyone has any information about traditional customs or stories that are associated to the well, I would be grateful if they would share them.
Situated: From the Kildavnet Church take the path, through the graveyard, to the gate in the south east corner. The well is on the shore, about 30 metres south of the gate.
