Streedagh Court Tomb

Streedagh

Court Tomb

The court tomb at Streedagh sits on top of a low hillock. Although the tomb is in quite a ruinous state, I could still make out the position of the gallery and some of the orthostats from the court. The monument is situated inside a ruined fort, which may account for the condition of the court tomb. The large stone in the image above may be a displaced roof-stone from the front chamber and the stone in the bottom image are from the court. The monument offers superb views of the Dartry Mountains including Benbulben, see top image.
