Streedagh

Wedge Tomb

This small wedge tomb is located on a small headland at the northern end of Streedagh Beach. The tomb was exposed after a storm. It is comprised of a small 2 metre long by 1 metre wide chamber with double walling. The outer kerb is best preserved at the southwest where thirteen stones remain. In the image below you can see two entrance stones and a door slab also at the southwest. In the background is Ben Bulben. The views of the Sligo coastline are quite stunning. My next destination Inishmurray can also be seen from here.

Situated: From Sligo Town head north on the N15 to Grange. After the SuperValu store turn left onto the L3203. Then take 2nd right. At the end of here park and walk north to the end of the beach.
