Middletown Portal Tomb This megalithic monument is situated just 5/600 metres west of the portal tomb at Drumhawnagh. The chamber is aligned NNW-SSE and like it's neighbour this tomb is much smaller than it appears on the images, the chamber is only two metres long. Unfortunately the backstone is missing and the large roofstone has slipped badly and is resting on the western portal stone and two sidestones. The two portals are 1.7 metres high and stand less than a metre apart, the eastern one may have been pushed slightly forward when the roofstone slipped. There is a distinctive notch present in the eastern sidestone. It is located in a small enclosure close to the roadway.
