Drumskinny Stone Circle Drumskinny is described as a Stone Circle with a stone alignment, the circle is about 45 ft in diameter consisting of about 38 stones some of which are replacements for missing stones, these are all marked with the letters M O F. If you look at the picture top left you will see a small cairn behind the right hand side of the circle, running from the cairn and at a tangent to the circle is a stone row of some 23 small stones. This is best seen in the bottom picture. The site itself is well looked after and easily accessable. I was more than impressed with this site and will visit it again whenever I am in the vicinity. Unfortunately on my last visit the site has deteriorated quite a bit, the fence was badly in need of some restoration.n |
